We've got too much

I just went shopping and realized how abundant the stores are in the United States. We have much more than we need.  This is becoming more evident since my daughter joined the Peace Corps and is living in one of the poorest countries in the world. I went to three stores today looking for supplies for work quickly became cognizant of all the worldly goods I possess and why I really don't need another things to get by today. I don't need new clothes, no new shoes and certainly no knick knacks. I have food, water and electricity at home and lucky enough to drive a car. I must stop buying frivilous things and start giving of myself to others who need so much more. My daughter is living without electricity, clean water and sanitary conditions. I pledge to reduse my intake of food, electricity and water and using the extra money I save to help those in need in my own city.
